Your income tax at the resident rates, the 2% Medicare levy including the low income reduction, and the low income tax offset. For years up to 2021-22 it also applies LMITO. It assumes you are an Australian resident for the full year with no deductions.
Your payslip shows PAYG withholding, which is worked out from a separate set of ATO formulas and assumes you earn the same amount every pay. This calculator shows the tax actually due on a full year of income. The difference between the two is what creates a refund or a bill. To match your payslip exactly, use the tax withheld calculator.
No. Your employer's compulsory super is paid on top of your wage and is not part of your taxable income. If your salary package is quoted as including super, enter the wage component only.
This calculator deliberately leaves them out to stay simple. Deductions reduce your taxable income, and a HELP debt adds a compulsory repayment. Use the full income tax calculator for both, or the tax return calculator if you want to know your refund.
