Limitations
This privacy policy applies to Tax Leopard’s collection, use, disclosure and handling of your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“the Privacy Act”). This privacy policy does not cover information which is not covered by the Privacy Act.
Collection of Your Personal Information
Tax Leopard collects personal information from our clients/customers, staff, prospective job applicants, suppliers, contractors and other parties. Tax Leopard collects and holds the information only for the purposes of carrying on our business.
The main categories of personal information which Tax Leopard collects and holds include:
- contact details of clients/customers, prospective job applicants, suppliers, and contractors as well as other business contacts. The information includes names, telephone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and job positions;
- personal information obtained in the course of supplying goods and/or services to clients/customers (for e.g., financial details where Tax Leopard is engaged to perform any relevant financial services, including credit information, and E-signatures);
- personal information obtained when you communicate with us, including by telephone or email;
- personal information obtained from prospective job applicants when you apply for employment with Tax Leopard as well as independent contractors when you complete work for us (and in some circumstances this may involve sensitive personal information, for eg, medical information if this relates to the work to be performed); and
- personal information obtained from our staff in the course of carrying out our business (and in some circumstances this may involve sensitive personal information, for eg, medical information if this relates to the employee’s specific role).
Most of the personal information we collect is directly from individuals upon dealing with them. The information may be collected from the standard forms we provide to individuals to complete, meetings, correspondences including by letter, email or telephone, your use of our website, app or social media, or via third parties. Should you contact Tax Leopard, we may retain a copy or record of your contact.
We also collect personal information upon it being provided by third parties, including from clients/customers. This includes personal information from materials given to us which is in the course of Tax Leopard providing goods and/or services to our clients/customers. If this occurs, Tax Leopard relies on the individual providing the personal information as having first obtained the legal right in order to do so.
Due to the nature and/or type of our business, generally it may not be practical Tax Leopard to deal with you anonymously, and/or via a pseudonym, whilst sometimes it may be possible client.
Use of Your Personal Information
Outlined below are the general purposes for which Tax Leopard collects, holds and uses your personal information:
- For the provision of goods and/or services;
- For communicating with clients/customers;
- For responding to your request(s);
- For general administrative purposes, for e.g., invoicing and management of accounts;

Should you decide not to provide your personal information, Tax Leopard may not be able to fulfil such purposes.

Tax Leopard may collect, hold and use your personal information to send direct-marketing materials to you, including keeping you informed about our goods and/or services and developments and/or changes within our industry. Such materials may be delivered to you in a variety of ways, such as by email and/or other media.

For written requests, you will need to allow up to twenty-eight (28) days for it to be processed.
Our Disclosure of Your Personal Information
Tax Leopard will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless:
- The disclosure is permitted under this policy;
- The disclosure is necessary for the provision of our goods and/or services to you;
- The disclosure is related to your work at Tax Leopard where you are an employee or independent contractor of Tax Leopard;
- The disclosure is necessary for the protection of personal safety, property and/or rights of any person, including a client/customer of Tax Leopard;
- You provide your consent to Tax Leopard for such disclosure; or
- The disclosure is otherwise permitted and/or required by law(s) and/or regulation(s).
Tax Leopard will never sell your personal information to anyone.
Tax Leopard uses third parties to assist us in delivering our goods and/or services to you. This means other parties outside of Tax Leopard may have access to your personal information, including collecting, or using it on behalf of Tax Leopard. These parties may include independent contractors and consultants, including software developers, IT consultants, and legal service providers.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information Outside Australia
Although we currently do not do so, going forward we may use overseas facilities and/or third parties to process, store and/or backup your personal information.
In doing so, we will always use reasonable endeavours to ensure these other third parties outside Australia are subject to appropriate restrictions upon handling your personal information.

Our privacy policy applies to all personal information collected through our website, including https://www.taxleopard.com.au and app, including mobile app, which is in addition to the personal information you directly provide to us. When you register your account with Tax Leopard, you are given a username and password to identify you when you log onto our website and/or app.
To assist us in managing our website and app, we may process information about the users of our website and/or app, for eg, information relating to domains or browser types. This information, however, will not specifically identify you and will be used only to help us improve our your user experience in relation to our website and app.
To ensure that our website and app can carry out the functions that you expect, we manage our website by using technology commonly referred to as “cookies”. At Tax Leopard, our staff and independent contractors are required to respect confidentiality in any personal information we hold.

Upon your request, we shall provide you with access to your personal information unless doing so will amount to a breach of laws, such as infringement of privacy in relation to another person and their personal information. If you request to access your personal information, you will be required to provide proof of identification, for e.g., your driver licence or passport. This is so we can properly take steps to verify you are indeed the correct person to whom the personal information relates.

Corrections to Your Personal Information
If any personal information about you is incorrect and you need this corrected, or if you want to know more about how we deal with your personal information, you may contact us to help address your concerns.
